Dr Gerald Pinto chosen for Konkani Lekhak Sangh’s Literary Award

Mangaluru, Feb 03, 2024: Eminent Konkani writer Dr Gerald Pinto, who is fondly known as Gerry Niddodi has been chosen for the 2022 Literary Award given by the Konkani Lekhak Sangh Karnataka, in recognition of his immense contribution to the field of Konkani literature.

The Award presentation ceremony will be held on February 17 at 6.30 pm at Sandesha Foundation premises at Bajjodi. The Award carries a cash prize of Rs 25000, a citation and memento.

The information was provided by Konkani Lekhak Sangh Convenor Richard Moras at a press meet held in the city on Friday.

Dr Gerald Pinto has authored six novels, 75 short stories and over 900 articles on diverse subjects. He is the winner of Danthy Memorial Award, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Award, Divo Sahitya Award and Amcho Sandesh Silver Jubilee Award among other awards.

He has served as President of Catholic Sabha, Central Committee and as  Principal of Milagres College Kalianpur.

Presently he is the director of MCC Bank Ltd.
