Udupi, Mar 21, 2014 : Former Mangalore MP and former union minister V Dhananjaya Kumar has filed his nomination as a JD(S) candidate from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency on March 21, Friday.
The fate of Dhananjaya, once a staunch loyalist of former CM BS Yeddyurappa was hanging fire ever since Yeddyurappa rejoined his parent party. Earlier, the JD(S) had announced Dhananjaya’s candidature from Udupi on March 20, Thursday.
Addressing press persons on the occasion, Dhananjaya highlighted his achievements during his tenure as MP of Mangalore and claimed that he had strived to solve the problems of areca and coffee growers. He also claimed that he had more experience compared to the other two candidates from Udupi.
He also accused BJP as a party of opportunists who are banking upon the popularity of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
JD(S) leader Madhu Bangarappa, Deviprasad Shetty, District President of JD(S), H S Manjappa, Chikmagalur district President of the Party, Gulam Mohammad and others were present.
