Derlakatte incident : All 8 accused charge sheeted

 Mangalore, Mar 20, 2014 : Police have charge sheeted the eight  accused who have been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of two medical students, blackmailing them and forcing them to indulge in the sex act.

 

 Those charge sheeted are Safan Hussain, Sameer, Imran Altaf, Nawaz, Iqbal Harris, Abdul Rauf, Nissar Ahmed and Araf. All of them have been booked under the   Indian  Penal Code Section 376(D) pertaining to Sexual Harassment. They have also been charged with kidnapping, dacoity, extortion, criminal intimidation and attempt to murder.

The  564 page charge sheet also includes  analysis of the video and audio with regard to the  videographing of the incident by the accused in their mobile phones. Details pertaining to the identification parade  wth video conferencing done to help the woman victim identify the assailants  have also been included in the charge sheet.

Asha Nayak, CWC Chairperson and advocate is one of the witnesses in the case. The incident had taken place on the night of December 18, 2013.
