The court had ordered that the accused provide a bond of one lakh rupees each to the Mangalore court. They must attend the trial at the lower court without fail, whether directly or through their attorneys, and they must not tamper with witnesses or commit any further crimes. They are also not allowed to leave the town without permission from the court. All three accused must appear before the Surathkal police station every Sunday as per the conditions set in the order.

Mohammed Fazil, 23, was hacked to death by a gang of four masked men on July 28, 2022 at the Bee Jay’s clothing store at Surathkal in Mangalore. The murder occurred amid tensions in Dakshina Kannada over the killing of BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru, 32, in the Bellare village. A total of 8 accused were detained by the Surathkal police. Five of them have already obtained bail.
