Mangalore, May 6, 2014 : The Bunder police have lodged an FIR against advocate Padma Prasad Hegde following a complaint by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel with regard to illegally collecting his cell phone call details and using it for malicious propaganda during the election campaigning.
Though Nalin had lodged a complaint against Independent candidate Sudatta Jain and a criminal advocate last month prior to the Lok Sabha elections itself, he had not mentioned the name of the advocate officially.
However, the MP had included the name of Padma Prasad Hegde and made an appeal to the Commissioner. On the basis of the complaint lodged, he Bunder police have now lodged an FIR.
The complaint states that both Hegde and Sudatta Jain had illegally collected his call details and had released it to the media.
Though the Bunder police have already served a notice to Bharti Airtel questioning how the call details were provide to third persons, police said so far there has been no response from the company.
