Belthangady, July 9, 2013 : Chikmagalur district police have arrested two persons from Belthangady who were wanted in connection with thefts in various districts of the state.
The arrested are Badyar resident Isaq and Hameed of Maddadka. Investigations revealed that they were wanted in over 40 theft cases in three districts. If Isaq is an autorickshaw driver in Guruvayanakere, Hameed has already undergone punishment in a theft case.
They were wanted in connection with the theft in the KB Malla petrol bunk at Belthangady in April wherein they had stolen cash and CCTV camera equipment. It is learnt, they were habituated with stealing CC Camera along with hard disk to avoid getting caught.
They were clever enough to change their sims and mobile phones frequently. Police found 13 sims with one of them.
The two were brought to Belthangady on July 8, Monday for enquiry.
