BJP stages protest; alleges grants meant for SC/STs used for guarantee schemes

Mangaluru, Feb 27, 2024: Members of the BJP SC/ST Morcha staged a protest in front of the Mini Vidhana Saudha on February 26, Monday accusing the state government of using grants meant for the SC/STs for the guarantee schemes and thus doing injustice to the people of the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
District BJP President Satish Kumpala who addressed the protestors accused the state government of pursuing an anti-Dalit policy. The government which has failed in effectively implementing the guarantee schemes was not providing grants for other development works, he alleged.
Deputy Mayor Sunitha, SC Morcha District President Jagannath Beluvai and others were present.
