Accident at Shiradi Ghat disrupts traffic on M’lore-B’lore NH

Puttur, June 21, 2014:  Traffic on the National Highway 75 between Mangalore and Bangalore  was disrupted  for a few hours following an accident involving a tanker and a truck  at Kempuhole in Shiradi Ghat stretch during the wee hours of June 21, Saturday.

Latest reports state that  the vehicles involved in the accident were cleared off the road to facilitate smooth movement of traffic.

The accident occurred at around 6 am when a tanker heading towards Mangalore collided with a truck approaching from the opposite direction. The drivers and cleaners of both the vehicles have sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

A serpentine queue of vehicles was seen on both sides, testing the patience of the motorists as well as the policemen who had a  tough time in regulating the traffic. Many motorists even preferred to deviate and take an alternate routé via Mysore to reach Bangalore.
