AAP candidate Vasudeva files nomination ; ex-office bearer opposes candidature

 Mangalore, Mar 22, 2014 : MR Vasudeva filed his nomination as AAP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency on March 22, Saturday. He submitted his nomination papers to Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim who is also the District Returning Officer.

But, there was some confusion prior to Vasudeva filed his nomination as Robert Rosario, a former district convenor of the party  openly aired his resentment over Vasudeva’s candidature  and charged him of being ‘communal.’

 

 

He also alleged that Vasudeva had attended a programme by NaMo Brigade  recently and added he had sent a photograph of the same  to the AAP leadership in Delhi.

Another serious allegation levelled by him was that the process of selecting AAP candidate was unconstitutional. Robert Rosario even said that he had not yet secured a B form. Rosario further accused the RSS of hijacking the AAP.

“Only a few out of the 10,000 AAP members in the district  are with Vasdueva while the remaining support me,” Robert Rosario claimed.

While stating that he was not an aspirant, he alleged Vasudeva had no clear cut stance on various issues.

However, speaking to reporters later, Vasudeva refuted the allegations of Robert Rosario and said “ Prior to joining the AAP I attended BJP and Congress programmes whenever I was invited as a common  man. However, I have not attended any such programme after joining AAP. He also said he will get a B form by March 24.

Jayaprakash, an AAP member who was present said Robert Rosario was no longer in the party as he has been expelled.
