Teen fidayeen of Jaish-e-Mohammad caught alive in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 25, 2016: In a major success against terror, a teenage Fidayeen of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was caught alive from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Identified as Mohammad Sadiq Gujjar, 17, he was part of the terror team that had attacked an army camp in Tanghdar in Kupwara district on November 25. His three associates were gunned down but he had managed to escape.

He was nabbed by a joint team of Army, Rashtriya Rifles and J&K police. A huge quantity of arms and explosives was also recovered from him.

Gujjar is a resident of Sialkot in Pakistan.

A member of the Afzal Guru squad of JeM, Gujjar had reportedly told his interrogators that the Tanghdar attack was launched from Athmuqam in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).

The Afzal Guru squad of JeM has been very active in the recent months. They have carried out three suicide attacks in recent days, including the attack on Pathankot air base.

A news report said that Gujjar was active in the Baramulla area for the past 15 days and was put under surveillance, leading to his arrest.
