D.K. Ravi’s birthday celebrations in Kolar along with his family attends

Kolar, June 10: As if to repay the debt of affection showered by the people of Kolar on deceased IAS officer D.K. Ravi, his parents - father Kariyappa, mother Gowramma and brother D.K. Ramesh, joined the revelry of the residents of Kembodi village on Ravi’s 37th birthday celebrations.

 

Various sections of people in Kolar including students, auto drivers and youths celebrated Mr. Ravi’s birthday on Wednesday. Offering reverence to the portraits, cutting of cakes, blood donation camp, distribution of books to students and cultural activities marked the occasion.

Mr. Ravi’s parents participated in a blood donation camp at Kembodi in Kolar taluk. Though sadness still filled their eyes, they were happy to see people observing Mr. Ravi’s birthday.

More than a thousand people gathered at the function organised by D.K. Ravi Abhimani Balaga. About a hundred people took part in the blood donation camp, part of the celebrations.

“We are grateful to Kolar residents for being with us at the time of crisis”, the parents said.

At Beglibenajenahalli, the villagers cut a huge cake to mark the birth anniversary of the former Deputy Commissioner of the district. Sweets and notebooks were distributed to the children of Government Higher Primary School in the village.
