Hyderabad, Nov 11, 2019: Two trains were involved in a head-on collision at the Kacheguda Railway Station in Hyderabad this morning. At least eight people have been injured; no deaths have been reported so far. Authorities are trying to extricate the driver of one of the trains after he was trapped in the wreckage, NDTV reported.
The crash is believed to have been caused by a technical failure that led to alerts not being sounded when both trains wound up on the same track. One of the trains involved in the crash is a commuter train belonging to the Hyderabad Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) while the other is the Hundry Express that runs between Secunderabad City Junction and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.
