Worker bathes in tub filled with milk at dairy plant in Turkey, arrested after video goes viral

Nov 14, 2020:     A video of a dairy plant worker bathing in a tub filled with milk is doing the rounds of the internet and has gone viral on social media. The short clip was shared on TikTok initially and has now been posted to Twitter by an account called @nedenttoldu.

In the clip, a man positioned himself inside a high-raised metal tub at a dairy plant. The tub was filled with milk as he used a mug to pour it over himself and took a bath. Hurriyet Daily News reports that the dairy plant in question is located in the Central Anatolian province of Konya, Turkey.


The worker taking a bath in the tub filled with milk has been identified as Emre Sayar. Ugur Turgut shared the footage on his TikTok account. Both have been arrested by the police, Hurriyet Daily News reports.

The dairy plant was shut down as well and was also issued a fine, as per authorities.

Ugur Turgut has been fired after the incident but he said that Emre Sayar did not take a bath in milk but instead, it was a mix of water and cleaning material.

An investigation has been launched after the incident, Ali Ergin, head of the Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Konya, said. Officials also decided to shut down the plant. A complaint has been filed against the company.
