Travel boss takes first selfie from atop Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil

June 02, 2014:  Lee Thompson, a travel blogger, a photographer, and the co-founder of the Flash Pack Lee Thompson became the first man to get rare access to the top of the Christ’s Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. From a dizzying height of 98 feet above the ground, on top of the Redeemer statue, the view is enthralling but equally scary for anyone who is even slightly acrophobic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In his blog, the thrill-seeker mentions he took 20 minutes to climb till the top. ’As I popped my head out of the hole in Jesus’ crown, I was in total and utter awe as my eyes met with a vast panorama that quite literally took my breath away,’ he wrote on his blog.
