March 07, 2016: You could soon learn how the human body works by going "inside" it via augmented reality t-shirts.

All you need is to download an app on a smartphone or tablet and point the device at the new invention, called a Virtuali-Tee -- and you’ll be able to see the body’s internal organs, including a beating heart.

If you pair the device with a virtual reality headset like Google Cardboard, you can even go on a virtual tour and get a 360 degree look at a person’s insides. Well, the augmented-reality version, anyway.

Developer Curiscope hopes the wearable tech will teach children the joys of biology and revolutionize the way science is taught across the world.

"Too often we feel detached from learning," CEO Ed Barton said. "We study the body in school but only in a textbook, on a screen or with a solid model."

He said the Virtuali-Tee lets people "interact with the anatomy and explore it right there in front of you.""Have you ever wondered what it looks like inside of the heart? Now you can actually experience it," he added.

Curiscope is pitching the concept for the $30 t-shirt and free app on crowdfunding site Kickstarter.

It launched Tuesday morning and gained more than $30,000 of investment in the first 48 hours. It’s now raised $37,000 of its $100,000 target. The chance to become involved ends on Mar. 31.

Barton dismisses claims it’s a gimmick. "Presented as the best way to learn about the body, and the future of schools, people suddenly get the product," he told The Huffington Post.

"And that’s really what we’re trying to do -- reimagining how we learn so that it’s an exciting adventure rather than a boring textbook. Taking it beyond a gimmick because it really is a better way to learn."
