Jan 01, 2018: Earlier this year, 17-year-old Ruby Rai, who topped Bihar’s Class 12 exams in the Arts stream, said that political science, a subject she virtually aced, teaches cooking. But why should we just blame her? Clearly, our politicians are no better.

Andhra MLA.

Jaleel Khan, a TDP MLA from Vijayawada West constituency in Andhra Pradesh, has claimed that he studied Physics as part of the course for his BCom degree.

The interview, which was shot by a local Telugu news portal, has gone viral now, with many mocking the politician for well, this inter-disciplinary course that no one has apparently heard of before.

At the beginning of the interview, the legislator is asked what he studied during his graduation. "BCom," comes the prompt reply. Following this, the interviewer asked him if he was passionate towards commerce, and ever wanted to be a chartered accountant.

"Nothing like that. I was interested in Maths. I was interested in Physics. So, I took it," the MLA responded.

The interviewer, a B.Com graduate himself he later revealed, tried to correct the politician and said that there is no Physics in the course.

"It’s there. It’s there. Why won’t Physics be there in BCom?" the politician asked.

When the interviewer insisted that there is no Physics in the course, Khan said, "Oh! Maybe I forgot, but Maths is definitely there."
