Jharkhand girl born with 40 fingers and teeth, has no tongue!

Ranchi, Oct 1, 2013: Leaving the doctors stunned, a newborn girl in Latehar district was born with 40 fingers at Balumath Hospital in Latehar on Saturday. According to doctors, the girl even has teeth but not a tongue.

Generally, infants do not have teeth from birth. The doctors have confirmed that despite the anatomical aberrances, both baby and mother are in health conditions. The girl’s parents, Shahnawaz and Parveen, reportedly belong to Shergeda town.

Expressing surprise, govt doctor Dr Vijay said that while birth of babies with 12-14 fingers was not uncommon, but this is indeed a rare case. He further claimed that females affected by ‘Congenital Anamoly’ would give birth to such babies.
