What age difference? Salman on being paired with Disha Patani

Disha Patani will soon be seen opposite Salman Khan in Bharat. She plays a trapeze artist and his character’s love interest, when he is still in his twenties. Disha and Salman also groove together in ‘Slow Motion’, with the former in a yellow sari and Salman in his stuntman avatar dressed in an Elvis-style jumpsuit.

Speaking about her role in Bharat, Disha Patani told Mumbai Mirror that she wasn’t sure if she’d ever get to work with Salman again owing to their age difference.

    Honestly, I don’t know if I will ever get to work with Salman sir again. Even Ali sir (director Ali Abbas Zafar) told me this while narrating the script,” she said.

When asked why she felt that way, she explained that it was “obviously because of the age difference between us.” “In Bharat, it is acceptable because that portion shows Salman sir in his twenties and thirties so, it was an immediate ‘yes’. He is a wonderful human being and very hard-working, I got to learn a lot from him,” she added.

Salman appears to share no such qualms and responded to Disha’s comment in jest.

    “Why? What age difference she is saying? I’m doing a film with a 17-year-old now,” he told Times of India.

While it’s unclear exactly whom he’s referring to or whether he’s just exaggerating, Salman did recently court controversy when it was announced that he would appear together with Alia Bhatt, who is 28 years his junior, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah. Though the details of the film are still under wraps, reports suggest that the two actors will be romantically paired in the Inshallah and their age difference will be acknowledged.
