Mumbai, May 04, 2018 : One of the most awaited films of this year is Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Race 3. The film is currently on the floors and there is still plenty of time for it to release. But seems like the film has become a blockbuster even before it has hit the theatres.
According to reports, the distribution rights for the film are going to be sold for a whopping Rs 190 crore. A source told India Today, “There were four top contenders – Fox Star Studios, Reliance Entertainment (a division of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group), Yash Raj Films and Eros International. Eros has offered the producers a whopping Rs.190 (approx) which consists of Rs.160 MG (Minimum Guaranty Basis i.e. outright sale) to acquire the worldwide distribution rights of the film (except China) and Rs.30 crore (PN&A).”
Well, the deal has not been finalised yet as Reliance has not given up. But it will be tough for them to give a better :LYoffer than Eros’.
The source added on saying, “YRF and Fox have bowed out of the match, Aditya Choksi from Reliance is still in talks with the producers. But Reliance might find it hard to match the offer and everyone in trade is talking of how Eros appears to have clinched the deal. Once both parties (Salman, Taurani and Eros) sign on the dotted line within the next few days, they will make an announcement.”
Talking about the film, Race 3 is the third instalment of the Race franchise. The film stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah. It is slated to release on June 15 in the festive season of Eid.
