Everyone knows that Miss World Aishwarya Rai and Miss Universe Sushmita Sen were two different stories from a similar path. That was surely an achievement for India when its two girls made the whole nation proud on global platforms.
Well, only a few people know that although they both hold different beauty pageants there was a competition when they both competed each other and in the last Sushmita Sen defeated Aishwarya Rai.
Here we are talking about the 1994 Miss India competition where an unknown face Sushmita Sen defeated a well-known model Aishwarya Rai and won the title of Miss India Universe.

Well, the time arrived when a tiebreaker question came and with a margin of s few points, Sushmita Sen defeated Aishwarya Rai.

Aishwarya replied - In Mason. Though they do share a lot in common, from what we get to see, Mason does have a very caring side to him and a terrific sense of humour. And that really gels with my character.

Q: What do you know about the textile heritage of your country and how old has it been?
Sushmita replied - I think it all started with Mahatma Gandhi’s Khadi. It has gone a long way since then but the basics of Indian textile heritage has been from there.
Sushmita Sen got 9.41 points for the answer.
With a margin of mere 0.2 Sushmita Sen was crowned as the Miss Indian Universe, while Aishwarya won the Miss India World title.
Both the beauties went on to make their countries proud in their respective international competitions.
