Did you know Anand Mahindra was Bill Gates’s classmate? See his viral post

Mangalore Today News Network

New Delhi, March 04, 2023: Industrialist Anand Mahindra always shares interesting and inspiring posts with his 10.4 million Twitter followers. A lot of those posts from Mahindra’s younger days make netizens nostalgic. This time, the Chairman of Mahindra Group shared a post that features one of his classmates from Harvard University. And the classmate is none other than Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

Anand Mahindra

Turns out, Gates and Mahindra were classmates at the prestigious Ivy League college back in the day. Mahindra met Bill Gates and received a copy of his book How To Avoid A Climate Disaster along with a sweet note. “To Anand. Best wishes to my classmates,” read the note written by Gates.

“Good to see @BillGates again. And, refreshingly, the entire conversation between our teams was not about IT or any business but about how we could work together to multiply social impact. (Though there was some profit involved for me, I got a free, autographed copy of his book),” Mahindra wrote in the caption.

The post has received over 200k views and many reactions. Many Twitter users were surprised to learn that the two renowned personalities who brought substantial development in their respective fields studied together.

Anand Mahindra studied at Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude in 1977. In 1981, he completed his MBA from Harvard Business School. Meanwhile, Gates enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn of 1973. He, however, dropped out two years later.
