ZP Pressident instructs to clarify ration cards issues early

Mangalore, Aug 19, 2014:  presiding over the monthly KDP meet held in Zilla Panchayat,   in the wake of confusions arising among people regarding the EPIC card link to the ration cards and cancellation of cards, Zilla Panchayat President Asha Thimmappa Gowda has directed the food department official to provide appropriate information to the public and to clear all confusion.

 The people below poverty line need ration cards to avail free treatment in hospitals. As some are getting information through computer server about the cancellation of cards, such patients are being deprived of free treatment, she said.  Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Thulasi Maddineni directed the Food department Deputy Director to provide Gram Panchayat wise details of the cancelled and suspended ration cards.  Asha Thimmappa Gowda also instructed that the staff/official of department concerned should attend the people in Raitha Samparka Kendras.

She told the official concerned to take measures to complete the pending electrification works under Rajiv Gandhi Vidyudikarana Yojane. Immediate solutions should be drawn at the monthly Grama Snehi programmes, Asha Thimmappa Gowda said. Zilla PanchayatVice President Sathish Kumpala said many industries in the district have been obtaining water from rivers. Such industries will be told to supply water to the nearby villages. Condition will be put to the industries while laying pipelines for the industry towards the supply of water, he said.

The Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer said that instruction has been issued towards the closure of defunct borewells and DC’s permission is necessary to dig new borewells. ZP Education and Health Standing Committee President KChandrakala, Social Justice Standing Committee President Meenakshi and Industrial standing committee President Balakrishna Suvarna were present.
