Yajna to foster unity to be held on March 20 - 21

Mangalore, March: Shri Rama Nama Tharaka Mantra Japa Yajna will be held on March 20 -21 in anticipation of the Rs 5-crore Shri Rama Bhajana Mandir, which will be constructed at Kalladka shortly. State Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will be the guest of honor; and Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr Veerendra Heggade will preside over the programme. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will be the president of the Yajna.

Dr. Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, the chief of the Yajna Committee, informed journalists at a press conference that the major aim of the Yajna is to unify the Hindu society and weaken the attempts that are being made to divide it. Efforts will be made through the Yajna to promote nationalism and safeguard the tradition, culture, and lifestyle of India.

He said that countries such as the US have already accepted Hinduism as a way of life. The Hindu faith in reincarnation, for instance, is now widely accepted all over the world. He declared that dharma, which is a way of life, has been wrongly labeled as religion in our country. He informed journalists that the Sudharma Rathyathra, which commenced from Kalladka on March 5, has travelled to different parts of the district and will return to Kalladka on March 20 just in time for the Yajna. Giving reasons for the choice of Kalladka as the venue of this religious programme, Dr. Prabhakar said that Kalladka has always been the centre of national events.

Shri Dharmapapalmath Swamiji of Adi Chunchanagiri inaugurated the Hore Kanike programme at Kalladka. District-in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Yogish Bhat, former minister Nagaraj Shetty, and former MLA Padmanabha Kottary were present at the press conference.
