Will hold rural IT quiz for students - TCS

Mangaluru, Sep 4, 2015: According to a release, TCS - Tata Consultancy Services, a leading IT company, along with Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology will hold a rural IT quiz programme across six states in India for school students from class eight to PUC.


The rural IT quiz aims at enhancing the IT awareness and underline the importance of technology among rural students, besides keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of technology.   A district-level quiz competition will be held on September 23. The winners will be selected for zonal level.

Location of sessions: The zonal-level quiz will be conducted at three locations-Dharwad on October 15, Mysuru on October 17 and Tumakuru on October 20. The Tumakuru zonal finals will be followed by Karnataka State finals in Tumakuru on the same day.

Students of schools/PU Colleges in the city corporation limits of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Ballari, Davangere, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi and Kalaburgi cities are not eligible to participate.

Prizes  : All the state winners and runners-up will receive education scholarship of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively. The national winners will receive Rs one lakh and runners-up Rs 50,000 along with other attractive prizes.
