Mangalore, Mar 12: Mr Ajith Kumar Malady said during a press conference held on March 16 at 5 p.m. that the renovation, astabandha, and brahmakalashotsava of Shri Mahaganapathi Temple of Urwa Store will be held from March 16 – 25, under the leadership of Shri Harikrishna Tantri of Derebail.

The grand horekanike procession will commence from Mangala Stadium on March 16 at 5 p.m. just before the ceremony, said Mr. Malady, adding that a number of associations will donate generously.

Various religious and Vedic programmes will be organized from March 16 – 18; and the Punar Prathiste will be held on March 19 at 10:17 a.m. Cultural programmes will be held at 7 p.m. on all 10 days.

Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, Sri Raghaveshwar Bharathi Swamiji of Hosanagar, Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor, Shri Yogaraj Sandhyanath Swamiji of Kadri, and many other Swamijis will deliver benedictory speeches on the occasion. Prominent politicians such as M Veerappa Moily, the union minister; Dr V S Acharya, the home minister; Krishna J Palemar, the district-in-charge minister; MLA Nalin Kumar Kateel; and MLA Yogish Bhat will also participate in the event.

Surendra Rao, the president of the Brahmakalshotsava Committee; Gopal Shetty, the founder member of the temple; Giridhar Shetty, the treasurer of the Brahmakalashotsava Committee; and many others were present for the press meet.
