University College to organize Alumni Day on April 3

Mangalore, Mar 29: The University College Alumni Association will organize its Alumni Day at University College on April 3, Saturday, said D K Chowta, the president of the University College Alumni Association, during a press conference organized at Shivaram Karanth Auditorium on March 29, Monday. 







Mr. Chowta also said that the college has a 142-year-old history and that some of the alumni are syndicate members. He informed journalists that Union Minister for Law and Justice Dr M Veerappa Moily will preside over the event. Prof T C Shivashankara Murthy, the vice chancellor of Mangalore University will be the chief guest. Prof K M Kaveriappa, the former vice chancellor of Mangalore University and Dr. P Dayanand Pai, the chairman of Century Buildings in Bangalore will be the guests of honor. 

Dr. Lakshminarayana Bhatta H R, the principal of University College, said that cultural programmes such as Nage Habba by Richard Louis and his team as well as Clarinet Music Event by Pandit Narasimhalu Vadavati will form part of the event. 

Ramesh Kumar, the treasurer; N Shashidhara Shetty and Namitha D Rai, the joint secretaries; and Sudhakar Rao Pejawar were present during the press conference.
