Mangalore, Jan 19: Vehicles were not permitted to ply along NH17 from Kuloor to Kottara owing to the construction work of the over bridge on the highway. 

The construction work resulted in series of traffic blocks along the highway and created a lot of inconvenience to motorists and riders. Owing to lack of traffic police to handle the situation, vehicles were parked in a haphazard manner. Moreover, a side of the highway was totally damaged. 

From 7 p.m. vehicles arriving from Udupi were allowed to proceed to Kulur, but vehicles going to Udupi had to wait for a long time.
