Mangaluru, Apr 04, 2019: Continuing their action against betting in cricket, the police on Wednesday arrested three persons allegedly involved in betting during a match in the ongoing Indian Premier League. This is the fourth case registered by the police in the last few days.
The Kavoor Police gave the names of the accused as Kumar, Vishal and Ashok. The three were reportedly found collecting money from people for betting using an online mobile app. The police recovered Rs. 26,000 in cash and four mobile phones from the accused. The accused have transacted around Rs. 2 lakh on the app, the police said. Efforts are being made to recover that amount, the police added.
