Shop in Mallikatte catches fire

Mangalore, Feb 17: Jilu Auto Gas, an auto gas shop in Mallikatta, caught fire on Feb 16, Tuesday, owing to technical faults in the servicing equipment. The shop not only offers services, but also sells equipment.

A spark arising from the faulty servicing equipment caused the fire, which rapidly spread to the rest of the shop. The employees immediately began to put off the fire. Three employees sustained minor injuries when some pieces of glass burst in the fire. They were immediately admitted to the private hospital. 

The fire squad rushed to the spot and doused the fire completely. 

All the equipment in the shop, including the furniture, has been completely destroyed in the fire. The loss is yet to be assessed.
