Seminar on Gods, guns, globalism begins today

Mangaluru, Feb 08, 2018 : The PG English department of St Agnes College will organise an international seminar on ’Gods, guns and globalism: Critical theories today and tomorrow’ at the conference hall of the college in Mangaluru on February 8 and 9.

Principal Sr Dr Jeswina said that the seminar will focus on critical theories as instruments for the analysis and interpretation of literature and to move beyond that to discuss inter-disciplinary issues that concern the future of human society and life on the planet.

She said that the seminar will be inaugurated by retired professor of history (Mangalore University) Prof Surendra Rao. Author and poet Luigi Marchini will deliver the keynote address. Dr Kishori Nayak, of Mangalore University, will be the chief guest for the valedictory. The resource persons are Prof Joseph Dorairaj of Department of English, Gandhigram Rural University, Dr B S Sherin of EFLU, Hyderabad, Luigi Marchini and David Sweeney.
