SDM College hosts talk on union budget

Mangalore, March 11:  SDM College of Business Management and the Mangalore Management Association jointly organized a talk on Union Budget 2010 – 11 at the SDM College auditorium on March 10, Wednesday. 

A Raghavendra Rao spoke about the merits and demerits of the Union Budget submitted by Finance Minister Pranabh Mukherjee on Feb 26. Labeling the entire budget as “appreciable,” Mr. Rao said that it will prove advantageous to the agricultural sector especially in the eastern parts of India.

Urging for the effective implementation of the budget, Mr. Rao said that, if all proposals of previous budgets were successfully implemented, the country would have progressed economically. 

Criticizing the central government for raising fuel prices, he said that hike in fuel prices will lead to hike in prices of all necessities ranging from transportation to food resulting in untold misery and suffering for the common man. 

Dr. Devarja K, the principal of SDM College of Business Management, presided over the programme. M Shekhara Poojary, the president of MMA, welcomed the guests. Savithri Rao introduced the chief guests.
