Renovated Samaja Bhavana opening Nov 22

Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2015: The renovated and airconditioned Samaja Bhavana of Karnataka Rajya Devadigara Sangha located at Mannagudde will be inaugurated by former chief minister M Veerappa Moily and his wife Malathi Moily at 10.30 am on November 22.

Speaking to media, Sangha President Vaman Maroli said the Bhavana was established 90 years ago and the Sangha has been running a school for the last 20 years. As part of the celebrations, a souvenir will be released, he added. He also said that Veerappa Moily couple will be felicitated on the occasion by Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade. A number of cultural programmes will be staged from 3 pm onwards.

Organising secretary Yeshwanth Devadiga, general secretary M Devdas and Member Karunakar were present.

Sahyadri Sanchaya not to felicitate Moily  : In a press release, Sahyadri Sanchaya said that the members oppose the move to felicitate former Union minister Veerappa Moily.

The move was not right on the part of the organisers, especially at a time when the public in Dakshina Kannada district are opposing the Yettinahole project.

Moily who started his political career in Dakshina Kannada district is supporting a project that will harm the people of the district, the release stated.  National Environment Care Federation said that the felicitation is an insult not only to the people of the district but also to Mother Netravathi.
