Rajini’s ’Kabali’ film craze in Kudla

Mangaluru,July 22, 2016:  the coastal city also shares a craze and  frenzy on the eve of the release of ’Kabali’. The film will be released worldwide today July 22, Friday. Maximum tickets have been sold and booked in advance at multiplexes.

PVR Cinemas at Forum Fiza Mall will screen 19 shows while Big Cinemas, a multiplex at Bharat Mall will screen 18 shows. At PVR, 1,841 tickets had been sold out on the eve.  while 531 tickets had been booked in advance. It includes 15 for the Tamil version and four in Hindi. This is the highest ever for any Rajini flick in the recent past.

Four of the six screens with a combined capacity of 781 seats will be screening ’Kabali’. Bookings have been already received for the Sunday late evening shows, said a source.

At Big Cinemas, as soon as the bookings opened, 50 per cent of bookings were confirmed with nearly 700 tickets being sold out by evening. It is expected to be screened to packed houses. Manager Sadashiva Putran told reporters, "More booking is for the Tamil version. The Hindi version is expected to get better at the weekend." The Rajini movie will be screened in the first three of the total of five screens in the multiplex. They have a capacity of 475, 308 and 268 seats respectively.   "Sivaji’, also a Rajini starrer was screened in 10 to 12 shows, a highest then", said Putran.

At Cinepolis in City Centre mall, the movie will be shown in two screens with a total of six shows. Around 453 tickets were sold out and 402 advance bookings made till evening hours.

Jyothi will be the only theatre where the movie will be screened. Ravishankar, the manager is hopeful of a good response. "It is after a several gap of years, that a Rajini film is being screened here.


The theatre is also equipped with an online booking facility".   Besides the usual Rajini mania, what has made the movie much awaited, is its young director Pa Ranjith.   Ranjith has just two films to his credit. He debuted with ’Attakathi’ in 2012 and later directed ’Madras’ starring Karthi, the younger brother of star actor Surya. Both the films were commercially successful.
