Kundapur, June 13: Hundreds of indignant people participated in a demonstration organized to protest against the negligence of the medical staff of a private nursing home, following the death of a young patient on Saturday. Finally the deputy superintendent of police had to intervene and solve the problem.

The grieving family of the deceased Gowri, a young nursing student of Murudeshwar College, says that she was admitted to the hospital on June 4 after she began complaining of stomach ache. The doctors treated her for appendicitis and even performed an operation on her. But Gowri’s condition worsened and she was shifted to AJ Hospital because she developed complications while passing urine.

The body was sent to Wenlock Hospital for the post mortem. When the body was brought to Kundapur, hundreds of people gathered in front of the private nursing home to protest.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishwanath Pandith arrived on the scene and assured the enraged people that justice will be done. Traffic was blocked for nearly 2 hours. Talshildar Raju Mogaveera, Circle Inspector Madan G. Gaonkar, and others were also present.
