Mangalore March 2: Federation of Karnataka Auto rickshaw drivers union of Dakshina Kannada conducted a protest on March 2 in front of DC office, demanding welfare council and implementation of various facilities.

 

A press release here stated that, over three lakh people, statewide, are leading their life by providing a public service. The petrol price has been tremendously hiked in the ongoing budget.  The auto spare parts price also gone high. At the same time there has been raise in price of food stuffs and other goods also.

   
The district administration has to fix a constant price, if auto driver wants to charge a fair price with commuters. The constant struggle of CITU has made state government to form a new council of labour and auto rickshaw drivers and provide required facilities. On the grounds, state government has to try seriously to get retirement pension for auto drivers, scholarship to their children, life insurance facility and fund to construct house. And also ISI facility and proper parking place for auto rickshaws.

Stressing all this demands, Federation of Karnataka Auto rickshaw drivers union of Dakshina Kannada staged protest.
