Private institutions play important role in education sector - CM

Mangalore, May 7, 2012 : Speaking on the occasion of the decennial celebrations of AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and AJ Institute of Dental Sciences at Kuntikan in Mangalore on May 6 Sunday, CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda expressed his opinion that the private institutions play a great role in the development of the education sector in Karnataka.

Further, he said that the work of private institutions in the health and education field is laudable, adding that deemed universities and colleges in Karnataka need to grow higher to compete at the national level.

Stating that the government is committed to high quality education, he said that Rs. 15,000 crore has been allotted for education in Karnataka and that the state is in continuous dialogue with the centre in this regard.

The chief minister also released the 10th anniversary souvenir of the institution.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the state legislative assembly, Janardhan Poojary, the former union minister, Dr. K. S. Shriprakash, the vice chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and many others were also present.
