Mangalore, Nov 25: Popular Konkani singer Claud D’Souza will release 2 new albums “Roce ‘N’ Brass” and “Claudia” during the first week of December in Mangalore.
Claud, aged 51, is not only a famed singer with 46 musical nites to his credit, but can also play musical instruments such as drums. Moreover, he is an excellent actor-director. Claud has innumerable awards and honors to his credit. Some of the prestigious awards he has won are Karnataka Sahitya Academy and Sandesha Award.
“Roce ‘N’ Brass” includes vovio (traditional wedding songs), hymns usually sung for the roce (a Konkani Christian pre-marriage tradition), baila, band music, and so on. The album includes non-stop Mangalorean and Goan baila by popular Goan singer Anthony Sam. The brass band music for this album has been provided by St Rita’s Band, Cascia. Mangalorean singers such as Asha D’Souza, Babitha D’Sa, Zeena Pereira, Lucy, Rony Crasta, Prakash D’Souza, Anna D’Souza, Babitha Pinto, Meera Crasta, Alwyn Noronha, and Claud D’Souza have sung for this album.
“Claudia” contains the latest songs of Claud. The album includes not only dance numbers, but also sentimental hits. Joswin Pinto is the music director for Claud’s lyrics and tunes. The singers are Rony D’Cunha from Kuwait, Anitha Samson, Babitha Pinto, Baby Shalon Pinto, Meera Crasta, Alwyn Noronha, Claud, Anthony Sam, Zeena Periera, Rony Crasta, and Prakash D’Souza.
