Police nabs a person after 33 Years

Mangalore, Feb 15: Police arrested a person, involved in an assault case that occurred 33 years back, on Tuesday February 16.

This incident took place in the year 1977, when John Peter, a native of Kerala, had been working for Bhaskar Rao, an assistant engineer residing in Ashok Nagar , Urwa in Mangalore. It was reported that Peter was eloped after assaulting Rao for some frivolous reasons. A complaint in this regard was lodged at Urwa Police station by the victim.

Responding to arrest warrant issued by the local session’s court, policemen had put their full effort to seize him. But they failed to arrest.

On receiving information about Peter’s whereabouts, a police team led by Urwa sub-inspector of police, Suresh arrested him from Viyyur in Trissur, Kerala, where he was settled with family. They produced him in the court. The court remanded him to a day’s judicial custody.
