Pilikula Nisargadhama Society to organize 45-day Karavali Pilikula Expo

Mangalore, Jan 10: Pilikula Nisargadhama Society will organize the 45-day Karavalai Pilikula Expo on the Karavali Utsav Grounds, Mangalore, from Jan 12 - Feb 28. 

The Karavali Pilikula Expo will be inaugurated by J Krishna Palemar, the district-in-charge minister, at 6 p.m. on Jan 12. MLA N Yogish Bhat will preside over the programme. MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik; B Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Coastal Development Authority; and Mayor M Shankar Bhat will be the chief guests.

During a press conference held on Jan 9, Saturday, J R Lobo, the executive director of Pilikula Nisargadhama Society, said that the income generated from the Expo will be used to develop Pilikula’s “Samskruthi Grama.” 

Simon Exhibitors of Bangalore and Nisarga Enterprises of Mangalore will plan and manage the Expo, said Lobo. The Expo will comprise 120 stalls besides entertainment and food galore. Separate stalls will be set up for the sale of products made in Pilikula’s artisans’ village. 

On week days, visitors will be charged a fee of Rs 10 per person. On holidays and at weekends, the entry fee will be raised to Rs 15. On the inaugural day, Jan 12, entry will be free. 

Nagachandra, Simon Exhibitors, and the high standards of hygiene will be maintained throughout the Expo. He said that the entire Expo area, comprising 1 lakh square feet, will dust free. The stalls will be raised on wooden platforms and the walking area will also be covered with wooden planks and carpets, he said.
