Nitte Varsity Signs pact with Toulouse Varsity

Mangaluru, Dec 17, 2014: Nitte University Mangaluru has signed a memorandum of Understanding with University de Toulouse –Paul Sabatier, Farnce, on Promoting scientific and training co-operation between the two universities, at a formal function held at K S Hedge Charitable Hospital Derakatte here on Monday.

Nitte University Director (R &D) Prof Indirani Karunasagar visited the University of Toulouse in January, 2014 to check opportunities for collaboration .She invited Toulouse University Director Prof Pierre Emmanuel Gelizes to visit Nitte University for discussions and to create a formal platform for collaboration. The MoU is designed to promote scientific and training co-operation between the two universities, besides other areas of Joint programmes being envisaged, the primary objective is to develop a scientific co-operation in the field of biomedical research.

Nitte University Pro-Chancellor Prof Shantharam Shetty and University   de Toulouse Paul Sabatier Director Prof Pierre Emmanuel Gelizes exchanged the document. French Consulate Consul Lavertu remarked that it was indeed a matter of pride in sharing of scientific heritage between France and India .He stressed on student and staff exchange between France University and Nitte.

He also emphasized on science development focusing on improving the life of the rural communities. Nitte Varsity Chancellor N Vinay Hegde lauded the developments in France and urged them to hold hands of their younger sibling in Nitte University.
