Bantwal, June 25, 2015  : In the election held for school parliament with much enthusiasm, Nayanadu Government High School recorded cent per cent voting.  Students elected school pupil leader, deputy leader, secretary and sports minister for the school.

Students had filed nominations on June 9 and none were rejected. Nishmitha, Vilma, Mallika, Sangeetha, Prabhashree, Roshan, Manjunatha, Manoj, Joyal, Navin Kumar, Prashanth, Reevan Lobo and Lathish were in the fray. Candidates were allotted symbols - clock, pen, sun, lamp, book, penguin, flower, leaf, umbrella and ball. The ballot papers were also printed.

During elections held on June 12, Prakash Naik acted as election officer. The ’voters’ showed their school identity cards as proof and exercised their franchise. Students themselves took care of security.  Left hand index finger was marked.

Manjunath was selected school leader, Navin Kumar deputy leader, Prabhashree as secretary and Prashanth as sports minister. Rama Mohan, Vidyashree, Vasu and Hemanna Nimbannanavar were assistant election officers. School Headmaster Ashok Kumar said election intends to give students an idea of  electoral process.  Students’ cabinet has been formed transparently and respective ’ministers’ will take oath and assume their powers. It was a useful and educative exercise.
