Mangaluru, July 1, 2015: Former  Indian Idol contestant, Nakash, who also composes music for Hindi, Marathi and Bengali films and works with  Rahman and Pritam in their composing, is making the the coastal city proud.  His presence has made a mark in Bollywood and  now  Nakash is its first playback singer on the scene. Mangaluru-born Nakash Aziz has grabbed the industry’s attention with chartbusters like Sari Ke Fall Sa, Dhating Nach and Gandi Baat for music directors like Pritam and AR Rahman.

Music runs in his blood — his father Naushad and uncle Amirjan were famous as voice-alikes of Kishore Kumar and Mukesh respectively in Mangaluru. It was natural for Nakash to end up in the music industry.

His father Naushad said that he used to take him to shows and he became famous in the circles. He was singing right from the age of three. He sang ’Papa Kehta Hain’ when he was in LKG. He did not have any formal training, but after college he started taking music seriously and trained in Hindustani classical in Mumbai.  

Nakash said that  his music career took off slowly,  after his name in the ’Suno Aisha’ album, he aimed to go on. Pritam gave the first offers and it was a good start. 

Nakash recently used his voice for Kannada in "Baare Koothkolley" with Anuradha Bhat for the movie "Bullet Basya" starring Sharan and Haripriya.   Anuradha,  the daughter of Krishna, his father Naushad’s childhood friend. Krishna and Naushad were neighbours in Kottara five decades ago.
