Mayor announces that serious action for traffic troublemakers

Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2017: Mangaluru Mayor K Harinath stressed the need to proceed with  action against illegal bus stops and haphazard parking on roads to address traffic woes and congestion in the city.

Presiding over the valedictory programme of the National Road Safety Week, the Mayor said only half of the developed roads are available for vehicular movement as the rest are being used for parking of vehicles. The vehicles are parked on allbusy roads causing great inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists, he said. Pedestrians are worst hit and seriously endangered.

There are several illegal and unofficial bus stops which are encroaching.
