Mangalore – Manipal Volvo bus service commences March 27

Mangalore, March 25: The Mangalore - Manipal KSRTC air-conditioned Volvo bus service will finally be launched on March 27, Saturday. 

District-in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar has received news from the Information Department that Home Minister Dr. V S Acharya will inaugurate the bus service from Manipal at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. 

The Volvo buses have been standing idle at the KSRTC workshop at Kuntikana in Mangalore for the last 30 days. KSRTC officials were reportedly waiting for Transport Minister R Ashok to launch the service. Mr. Ashok had proposed the introduction of Volvo buses on Mangalorean roads more than a year back. 

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa informed reporters during his visit to the district that there was no need to wait for any minister to launch the bus service.
