Mangalore, June 11: The police personnel from Pandeshwara Police station have arrested four persons in connection with preparing fake voter identity card to help a person to apply for Passport.


Abdul Khader (76), K A Abdul Khader (42), both from Kaprigudda here, and Nazir (38) and Abdul Munaf (35), residents of Casba Bengre village are the culprits, who are in police custody for preparing fake voter Id Card.


The incident came to light when Pandeshwara police have caught a certain Adbul Khader from Kaprigudda, after developing a doubt over a voter identity card furnished as enclosure to a passport application. He revealed, while interrogating by the police, that he did not have any proper documents to prove his residential status. He had met K A Abdul Khader, one of his relatives and sought help from him to get a passport to undertake Haj piligrimage. After taking note of his plight Abdul suggested him to meet Nazir, who was engaged in passport related activities at Rao and Rao circle near state bank bus terminal. Nazir had demanded Rs 2, 000 from Khader to issue a fake identity card. Nazir assigned the work of preparing fake identity to Abdul Munaf, having computer printing and stationery business on Bibi Alabi Road. He, even, had paid Rs 500 for the treachery work. Munaf prepared the card by using computer, and by pasting the stamp removed from a record of rights issued by the revenue department. On the basis of the voter identity card so prepared, K A Abdul Khader applied for passport.


After gathering all the information about a racket preparing fake identity cards, police personnel’s of Pandeshwara have planned to arrest Abdul Khader and K M Abdul Khader and succeeded to arrest them on June 8. They have also seized Nazir on June 9 and Abdul Munaf on June 10.  All the accused have been remanded to judicial custody. The policemen are interrogating further to accumulate past works by culprits.
