Malpe, Dec 18, 2018: A man was found dead in the engine room of the boat at the Malpe fisheries harbour. According to the police, four workers and the boat leader had gone fishing from Malpe on December 10. They returned to the Malpe harbour at around 5 p.m. on December 16 and anchored the boat.
While they, two workers – Maruti from Koppal and Preetam from Odisha, stayed back to sleep. But when the boat was hauled up for repairs at the harbour by boat leader, Rajesh and another person, Dattaraj, at around 5.45 a.m. on Monday, some blood marks were seen on the cabin deck glass.
They found the dead body of Preetam in the engine room with severe injuries.
In his complaint, Mr. Rajesh said he suspected Preetam and Maruti were drunk and quarrelled, resulting in Maruti murdering Preetam.
