Man attacked by mob over land dispute

Mangalore, March30: A carpenter of Edamangala was mercilessly beaten up by a mob over a land dispute on March 25. 

The victim is Balakrishna Achar (27) of Noojadi of Edamangala village in Sullia Taluk. He has sustained injuries on the head, right leg, and back and is now recovering at Wenlock Hospital. 

The victim’s family said that a group of 30 people stormed into their house at 10 p.m. on March 25, dragged Mr. Achar to a distant place, and beat him up continuously for half an hour. 

Narayana Achar, the brother of the victim, has written a complaint to the Superintendent of Police Dr. A S Rao. He alleges in his complaint that even the local police are involved in the attack.
