MCC has neglected interior roads: DCC

Mangalore, Mar 19: The District Congress Committee (DCC), South Block, protested against the Mangalore City Corporation’s negligence of interior roads. The protestors also blocked Nehru Road near Sooterpete for a few minutes on March 18, Thursday. 

Appi, MCC’s Congress corporator, accused the BJP of neglecting the wards of Congress Corporators. She alleged that the MCC is only interested in concretizing the main roads of Mangalore and that the roads of the interior are neither repaired nor maintained properly, adding that the Sooterpete roads have not been asphalted since 3 years. 

M G Hegde, the Congress leader, said that the BJP knows nothing about development and that it is not interested in providing service to the people. He accused the ruling party of being power hungry and interested only in their personal goal of wealth accumulation. 

T K Sudhir, the secretary of the DCC, said that a number of roads in Falnir and Jeppu have not been asphalted from the past 3 years. 

D K Ashok, the opposition leader in MCC, and Congress leaders Harinath and P V Mohan were also present.
