Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation Organizes Birth Anniversary of Bakibab Borkar

Mangalore, June 14: Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation along with Kavita Trust, Mangalore has organized “Bakibab Shatabdi Smaran” a day long programme at Konkani world centre located at Shaktinagar, Mangalore on Sunday June 13.

The day long function was inaugurated by the eminent Konkani Poet and Goa Liberation Movement Leader Shri Nagesh Karmali. He has briefed about Konkani poet, Bakibaba’s early and his contribution to freedom struggle movement after garlanding the portrait of Bakibaba. He said Baba was working as teacher in government school. But later, he had resigned his job and became a freedom fighter. Karmali has also appraised Bakibaba, for his contribution to Konkani literature. He said he was one of the greatest Marathi poets after Jnaneshwari,” Karmali.

Earlier, Basti Vaman Shenoy, president, Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation, welcomed the gathering.
