Mangalore, March 29: KSRTC Mazdoor Sangh organized a press conference to provide information regarding the conclusion of its hunger strike at Woodlands Hotel on March 29, Monday.

Secretary of KSRTC Mazdoor Sangh Bangalore Shantharam Vitla welcomed the journalists and said that, after holding a long meeting with the senior members of the Bharathiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and President of the Coastal Development Authority B Nagaraj Shetty, the hunger strike, which commenced on March 22 and went on till March 28 in front of the DC’s office, has been called off.

In response to a journalist’s query, Vitla said that B Nagaraj Shetty had convinced them that a joint action committee including government representatives, BJP workers, bus owners, members of the Mazdoor Sangh, the district administration, and the KSRTC has been created. The decisions taken by the joint committee will be implemented within a month. If that doesn’t happen, the Mazdoor Sangh will intensify its protest, he said.
